GYAN ("we", "our", or "us") is a medical-field mobile application available in two variants: Retailer and Distributor. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our application. By using GYAN, you agree to the practices described below.

1. About the Application

GYAN connects Retailers (who place orders for medical or healthcare-related products) with Distributors (who list and manage available products). There is no in-app payment gateway; orders are processed outside the app or through offline arrangements.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service and maintain accounts.

  • Registration information: Full name, phone number, email address, business or delivery address.
  • Profile information: Optional business details, product listings (for distributors) and order requests (for retailers).
  • Device & Usage data (automatically): Device model, OS version, app usage statistics, crash logs, and anonymized IP information for diagnostics.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

  • Create and manage user accounts.
  • Verify user identity and enable retailer–distributor interactions.
  • Allow retailers to place orders and distributors to show available products.
  • Send important communications regarding orders, account activity, or support.
  • Improve app functionality, security, and performance.

4. Permissions & Data Access

Depending on app features, GYAN may request the following permissions. These are optional and used only for the stated purposes:

  • Location (optional): To autofill or suggest delivery addresses and improve delivery accuracy.
  • Storage / Media: To upload product images or business documents (if such features are enabled).

5. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only when necessary:

  • Operational sharing: Retailer contact and address details may be visible to relevant Distributors to process and fulfill orders. Distributor business details may be visible to Retailers in the app.
  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers (for hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, crash reporting) who process data on our behalf under contractual restrictions. Examples include Firebase and cloud-hosting providers.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose data to comply with laws, court orders, or to protect rights, safety, and property.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. While we strive to protect your data, no system is 100% secure—if a breach occurs we will follow applicable legal requirements to notify affected users.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and/or as needed to provide our services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request account deletion—see Contact section below.

8. Children’s Privacy

GYAN is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us to request deletion.

9. No Payment Processing

GYAN does not process or store payment card information, UPI IDs, bank account details, or other payment credentials. Any payments or financial arrangements between Retailers and Distributors are handled outside the app.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (for example GDPR or India DPDP), you may have rights including:

  • Accessing your personal data
  • Rectifying inaccurate data
  • Requesting deletion of your data
  • Withdrawing consent where processing is consent-based
  • Requesting portability of your data

11. Third-Party Links

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before providing information.

12. International Data Transfers

Data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in servers located outside your country. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When changes are made, the updated policy will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.

15. Data Deletion Requests

Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time. Data deletion requests can be made through the in-app option (if available) or by contacting our support email. Once a valid request is received, we will delete the data within 7–15 business days, except where retention is required by law.

16. Account Deactivation and Deletion

Users may choose:

  • Deactivate Account: The account becomes inactive, but data remains stored for possible future reactivation.
  • Delete Account: All personal information is permanently removed, except where legal data retention is mandatory.

17. Data Collected by Third-Party SDKs

GYAN uses third-party SDKs such as Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Analytics, and Crashlytics. These services may automatically collect device identifiers, crash logs, performance metrics, and anonymous usage data. This data is used only for diagnostics, security, and app functionality, not for advertising or sale.

18. Advertising and Tracking

GYAN does not display third-party advertisements and does not use advertising identifiers. If advertising features are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

19. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

GYAN does not use cookies or web-based tracking technologies. Analytics and crash-reporting SDKs may use anonymous identifiers to improve performance.

20. Data Not Sold

We do not sell, trade, or rent any personal information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

21. User Responsibilities

Users agree to provide accurate information, maintain confidentiality of login credentials, and avoid fraudulent or unauthorized activities. Violations may result in suspension or termination of the account.

22. Fraud and Misuse Prevention

To maintain platform integrity, GYAN may monitor activity to detect fake orders, misleading business information, data scraping, or misuse of app features. Suspicious activity may result in account restrictions or legal action.
